Focusing each time at a historic part of the island, the Cultural Festival Kea aspires to organise a series of major cultural events showcasing the combination of new forms of artistic expression with tradition, history and the customs of Kea.
This is an initiative of gallery Art S.A. coupled with the invaluable collaboration of Stigma Lab and is organised under the auspices of the Municipality of Kea.
"Tetrapolis 2013" is the title of the series of events on culture and artistic creation, which will begin in June on the island of Kea with focal point the centre for Culture and Environment, at the historic motel "Our Kea" on Koressia beach.
The artists Cacao Rocks, Dimitris Taxis, Ser & WD will create four murals inspired by the ancient cities of Tetrapolis (Ioulida, Korissía, Piiesa & Karthea) in various parts of the Motel. Also, at the side of the building, the artist b. will paint the central mural of the Festival "Hydrousa" (a ancient name for Kea given due to its many natural watery sources and dense vegetation).

As part of the Festival artists b. , George Callas, Cacao Rocks, Ino, Ser, Simoni, Dimitris Taxis, The Krah, Alexandros Vasmoulakis, WD, Woozy & Yiakou will be exhibiting their works at the gallery ART sa (Vourkari Kea).

"Klidonas", organised by the Cultural Association "Simonides the Kean." A yearly festival reviving an ancient custom of a traditional feast with bagpipes and toubi of local folk instrumentalists coupled with performances of folk dancing.
Saturday, June 29 (20.00-21.00)
"Storytelling for Children"at Koressia beach. An event organised by the Centre for the Study and Propagation of Myths and Tales.

Με επίκεντρο κάθε φορά ένα ιστορικό μέρος του νησιού, το Πολιτιστικό Φεστιβάλ Κέας φιλοδοξεί να διοργανώνει σημαντικές πολιτιστικές δράσεις, που θα συνδυάζουν νέες μορφές καλλιτεχνικής έκφρασης με την παράδοση, την ιστορία και τα έθιμα της Κέας. Πρόκειται για μία πρωτοβουλία της γκαλερί art s.a. με την πολύτιμη συνεργασία του Stigma Lab υπό την αιγίδα του Δήμου Κέας.
"Τετράπολις 2013" είναι ο τίτλος του κύκλου εκδηλώσεων πολιτισμού και καλλιτεχνικής δημιουργίας, που θα ξεκινήσει τον Ιούνιο στο νησί της Κέας με επίκεντρο το Κέντρο Πολιτισμού και Περιβάλλοντος, το ιστορικό μοτέλ “ Η Τζιά μας” στην παραλία της Κορησσίας.
Οι καλλιτέχνες Cacao Rocks, Dimitris Taxis, Ser & WD θα δημιουργήσουν τέσσερις τοιχογραφίες εμπνευσμένες από τις αρχαίες πόλεις της Τετράπολις (Ιουλίδα, Κορησσία, Ποιήεσσα & Καρθαία) σε διάφορα σημεία του Μοτέλ. Επίσης στην πλαϊνή όψη του κτιρίου ο καλλιτέχνης b. θα ζωγραφίσει την βασική τοιχογραφία του Φεστιβάλ "Υδρούσα", παλιότερη ονομασία της Κέας κατά την περίοδο της αρχαιότητας λόγω των πολλών νερών και της πυκνής της βλάστησης.

Κυριακή 23/6 - Πάρτυ για την ολοκλήρωση των έργων.

Όλες τις μέρες οι επισκέπτες θα έχουν την δυνατότητα να παρακολουθούν ζωντανά το έργο των καλλιτεχνών στην εξέλιξή του.

Παράλληλες δράσεις-εκδηλώσεις που εντάσσονται στο Φεστιβάλ θα είναι ο "Κλήδονας"από τον Πολιτιστικό Σύλλογο "Σιμωνίδης ο Κείος ". Ένα αρχαίο έθιμο που κάθε χρόνο αναβιώνει μέσα από ένα παραδοσιακό πανηγύρι με τσαμπούνες και τουμπί από λαϊκούς Τζιώτες οργανοπαίκτες με την συμμετοχή του χορευτικού συγκροτήματος του Πολιτιστικού Συλλόγου (Κυριακή 23 Ιουνίου 22.00 - 23.00). Τελος, το Σάββατο 29 Ιουνίου (20.00-21.00) θα λάβει μέρος η εκδήλωση "Αφήγηση για Παιδιά" από τo Κέντρο Μελέτης και Διάδοσης Μύθων και Παραμυθιών στην παραλία της Κορησσίας.
Ελεύθερη είσοδος για το κοινό σε όλες τις εκδηλώσεις.
